19 LGAs To Vote in IDPs Camps in Borno 2023 General Elections

The Resident Electoral Commission (REC), of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in Borno state, Alhaji Magaji Ibrahim has said that 19 local government areas of the state will in the forthcoming 2023 elections cast their votes in their respective Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camps
Alhaji Magaji Ibrahim said ” 9 local government areas in the Northern Borno will cast their votes in the super camps, 6 in Borno central and 4 in southern Borno, and that the whole LGAs in BiU and Shani Emirates will vote in their respective units in their communities “.
The REC said with exception of Abadam and Kukawa local government areas, all local will vote in super camps in their respective local government areas , while MMC, Jere, Biu, Hawul, , Bayo, Kwaya Kusar and Shani will do their normal voting up to polling units levels,, except Askira Uba where majority of it’s voters will vote in polling units.
” There will be no electronic voting in the 2023 general elections, but there will be electronics accreditation and transmission of results. No PVC no voting and there will be no incident form, as incident form is now a bygone issue”, Alhaji Ibrahim said.
He said 138,256 Permanent Voters Card (PVCs), which comprises 114531 PVCs for 2019 and 13,715 PVC from the just concluded continuous Voters Registration (CVR) remained uncollected and called on the general public to come forward and collect their PVCs from 12th December, 2022 to 15th January 2023 in their respective local government offices and 5th January, 2023 to 15th January, 2023 at the wards levels.nowh Ibrahim said a total 17,948 security personal are expected to provide security at the various election points including patrols,excluding the Army personal that will give security at periphery, as well as escort to inaccessible local government areas..
He further said “the exercise of voters migration has commenced and once it has been concluded the general public , particularly the members of the press will adequately notified with view to sensitizing the voters . For clarity, there are 411 polling units in the state that have above 1,000 voters some of whom shall be migrated to the less populated polling units numbering 336 in the state.
He assured Nigerians,especially, the residents of Borno state of the commissions commitment in ensuring free, fair peaceful, credible and all inclusive 2023 general elections.
