Your re-election in office is the sign the Nigerian people and the world atlarge highly appreciates your leadership towards transforming Nigeria to a better world it is destined to be. The good people of Yobe and the office of the ruling all progressive Congress (ApC) National secretary, wishes to hereby convey it’s warmest congratulations for this well deserved victory.

The all progressive congress (ApC) was formed on 6/2/2013 in anticipation of the 2015 general elections, we contested with you as the presidential candidate, fought politically and dethroned the incumbent government of Goodluck Jonathan of PDP and enthrone ApC by almost 2.6million votes and Jonathan conceded defeat on the 31/3/2015.
With the objective of concluding a democratic struggle against the most abused, mismanaged and corrupt government of the peoples democratic party (PDP) and it’s presidents.

Mr president, your first term did mean- Change and hope- for Nigerians and people around the planet. And as Nigerians, we completely appreciate your oriented wisdom and all inclusive style of leadership in carrying every Nigerian along irrespective of tribe, religion, status or political inclination.
Nigeria really needs strong institutions not strong Men.

We are also hopeful about your new campaign slogan “NEXT LEVEL” that promises to step up positive achievements, indeed, Nigeria as a nation is still suffering the inflictions caused by the previous administration of PDP that crippled our economy and left the country in limbo.

Though our motto that leads “CHANGE” we are set to provide the Nigerian people with security employment developmental projects education health constant electricity portable drinking water, moral and material welfare, as Nigerians dreams.

In addition to plotting friendly diplomatic relationship with our neighbours and the whole world.

Governor Zulum donates House, N20 million to the orphans, widow of Late Col Bako

The body of the Late Col Dahiru Chiroma Bako an Army commander who sustained injury in a Boko Haram ambush in Borno and later died at a military Hospital at the Maimalari Army hospital, Maiduguri has been laid to rest at the Maimalari Military cemetery, Maiduguri on Tuesday amidst tears .

The Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum and the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt General Tukur Buarai along other dignitaries attended the burial in Maiduguri.

While paying glowing tribute to the Late Army Commander during funeral rites, Governor Babagana Zulum announced a donation of a befitting house and 20 million Naira to the widow and orphans left behind by late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako who died from wounds sustained while battling boko haram. Insurgents ambushed the Commander’s troop on Sunday morning.

The governor said “I am reliably informed that Col. Bako did not have a house of his own. We cannot ignore the family he left behind. We share their grief and nothing can equal his life. Nevertheless, I am pleased to announce that Borno State Government will build a befitting house for the family of late Col. Bako. I was also told that the Nigerian Army under the distinguished leadership of Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai has offered a scholarship to his children, we will also support the family to compliment the efforts of the military.”

Governor Zulum described Col. Bako, as a fallen warrior, was Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole in charge of Damboa and surrounding axis in southern Borno. He died at a military hospital in Maiduguri on Monday.

He said “Indeed it is a very sad moment, this is not a loss to the family of Late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako alone, not to the Nigerian Military, it is a loss to Borno and indeed Nigeria.. Col. Bako was a gallant and dodged military officer, under whose watch Damboa was never defeated. He humble and committed in discharging his duties, he is part of the success recorded in degrading boko haram insurgency in Borno State.”

“He has been one of the greatest in trying to stabilize not only Borno but even the neighbouring Yobe State. We will remember his contributions forever, may almighty Allah reward him, and forgive him.. To his family may they bear this irreparable lost. To all the soldiers and officers of the Nigerian Military that lost their lives, may Almighty Allah reward and forgive them. The injured ones we pray for their quck recovery.”

“For the welfare of his family, Borno State Government will relase the sum of 20 million as support for them. A cheque to the effect will be ready later today or tomorrow morning” Zulum said.

It could be recalled the Nigerian Army in statement issued by the spokesman ,of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Ado Isa who announced the sudden death of the gallant officer said. “Operation LAFIYA DOLE wishes to intimate the general public of the demise of one of our gallant and finest war heroes Col DC Bako.”.

The statement further said that “the professional, gallant senior officer who always led from the front and a patriotic Nigerian, led a patrol to clear Boko Haram Terrorists from Sabon Gari-Wajiroko axis near Damboa when his patrol team entered an ambush at about 10 a.m Sunday 20 September 2020. Under his able leadership, the troops cleared the ambush resulting to the killing of scores of terrorists and recovery of weapons and equipment,”

The Army said “Sadly however, he was wounded in action and immediately evacuated by the Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE to the 7 Division Hospital at Maimalari Cantonment. The late senior officer was recuperating well after successful operation at the hospital, in good spirit and also said his prayers in the early hours of this morning before his sad passing on at the hospital. May Almighty Allah grant his soul eternal rest. Ameen. “

While comesurating with the bereaved family, the troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole,, the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai on behalf of himself, gallant troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE and indeed well meaning Nigerians said the Army will sponsor the education of the family of the deceased.

“We are most grateful for his contributions and sacrifices to the mother land. May God grant eternal rest to the gentle soul of Col DC Bako and the souls of all Nigerian Army officers and soldiers who paid the supreme prize in the defence of our fatherland,” General Buratai said.

In it’s commitment to ensure crime free society, the Borno state Police Command has Inaugurated Area command and Divisional Police community policing initiatives across the 27 local government areas and divisions.

Inaugurating the committee at the police headquarters, Maiduguri on Monday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 15, AIG Lawan Ado said ” the community policing initiatives is intelligence base policing initiative aimed at nipping on burd crime within the siciety.”

“The community policing initiatives is to involve all stakeholders in such as traditional rulers, chairmen local government area, hunters, vigilantes, Civilian Joint Task Force ( CJTF), Road Transport Workers Unions, Business associations, community Base organizations among others in policing their communites”, AIG Ado said

He said ” the committees which includes police advisory committee and community policing committee at both area and divisional levels would not only providing intelligence to the police but settle small, small disputes within their communities, thereby facilitate quick depensation of Justice”.

Also in his remarks, the Borno state commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ndatsu said ” the community knows itself, everyone knows who is who in the community,and should be in better position to report any persons trying to commit the crime before they commit it. also urge the community to screened very well the members of the committee, so as not nominate criminals that would undermine the aim of the committee”

” The presence of people of questionable character in the committee will give room for the person to reveal the strategy of the committee to the police rather than giving useful information io the security”, he added.

Earlier speaking, the chairman Borno state Community policing Committee, Alhaji Sanda Sheriff said ” I want to assured the police that we will work together to ensure crime free society. We will also be addressing some civil and some minor case at the community level before even getting to police station”.

Borno NDLEA destroys 19.234 kg of seized drugs and illicit substances worth billions of Naira

Inline with constitutiinal provision, the Borno state Command of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), has seized and destroyed 19,234 kilograms of Nacotic and iilicit substances Intercepted from drug traffickers, couriers and users within the state.

Speaking at the destruction of the seized items in Maiduguri on Friday, the Chairman National Drugs Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Rtd Col. Mohammed Abdallah said ” I am delighted to attend the destruction of Nacotic and iliicit substances seized by the Borno state command of the NDLEA. The first time since my assumption as the chairman of the Agency. What you are seeing here today it could have been consumed by our youths.

“To us in NDLEA this ilicit substances are worthless, because our job is to safeguard every single life, whatever it cost, is not important to us and we don’t care. Our job in NDLEA is to ensure, that drugs and ilicit substances are destroyed and all their dealers, couriers and transporters are kept out of business”, the NDLEA chairman stated.

He Commended the military, police, NSCDC and other sister security agencies for the collaboration a BD synergy as ND urged them to continue to work together to fight against illicit drugs and substances is a collective fight meant

He said those most affected by the ilicit drugs and substances are the youths, which are the future of the nation, stressing that government’s at all levels must invest heavily in rehabilitation and treatment of the victims of drugs and ilicits substances be users.

In his remarks, the Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum said ” today we are witnessing yet another milestone in Borno by destroying about 20,000 kilograms of Nacotic and ilicit drugs and substances . This is a great achievement for us in Borno. Recent media reports indicates that Kano, Borno and Niger states have the highest cases of drugs and illicit substances. This worrisome because the users are mostly our youths who are our future, hence we need to.do something urgently to safe our Future”

” The consequences of these are the challenges of raping, Gender Base Violence kidnaping and other security challenges we are witnessing today.Therefore there is need for collective efforts and collaboration to fight the menace. I urge all stakeholders especially NDLEA, police, customs, NAFDAC, Pharmacy council of Nigeria to work collective, as the mind drugs and ilucit substances traffickers and users are dynamic”, Governor zulum said.

He assured of his administration support and partnership to eraducate drug and illicit substances in the state and country in general

Also speaking, the Borno state Chairman of the Task force against ilicit drugs and substances and the Attorney General of the state, Barrister KakaShehu Lawan said “His Excellency, Governor Babagana Zulum has directed that all expired drugs should be mob out of all General hospital both government and private hospitals.. He also approved the destruction of all drugs and other illicit substances in the custody of the police.’

Earlier in his welcome address, the Borno state commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Joseph Iche said ” today we are witnessing the destruction of 19. 234 kilograms of drugs and Illicit substances worth billion of Naira, which consists of canabis Sativa , cocaine, heroin, expired drugs and other illicit substances intercepted and sized in the state.”

He thanked the NDLEA chairman for his support and mentoring without which the achievement could not be possible and also commended the Borno.state government, the military and other sister security agencies for the synergy and urged them to continue to work with the NDLEA.
