I will turn on the heat on Boko haram, we will take the fight to them, new theatre Commander assures

The new theater Command Operation Lafiaya Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi has vowed to turn on the heat on Boko Haram insurgents, and take the fight to them as he as he took over from the mmediate past Theater Commander, Major Benson Akinroluyo.

General Olusegun Adeniyi while taking over from the former theater Commmander, Major General Benson Akinroluyo said ” I am going to turn on the heat on the Boko Haram insurgents. I am going to take the fight to them until Boko Haram they disappered from the Northeast”.

” I am proud and happy that I am today taking over from General Akinroluyo, my commander. He has mentored me and we are going continued from where he stopped and even do more until we finish the task of wiping out insurgents from the theater and the nation at large,” the general added.

He further said ” I want to thank the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt General Tukur Buratai for appointing me as theater Commander. I assured him and Nigerian that I will not let you down. We will fi everything to see that the works is finish on.time.

In.his remarks, the immediate past theater Commsndet, Major General Benson Akiroluyo said that he was leaving the theater cslm snd better than what he met when assumed duty.

General Akinroluyo said ” I came when there is tension in the theater, few days after metele attacked and the Metele was always on the media. And thanked God I am leaving the theater today calm and better than when I met it”

” I am happy whenever I am In Borno because I was in Maimskari as a captain in 1997 and got my promotion to Major.and 20 years after, in 2017 I was also decorated with the rank of Major General Maiduguri, Maiduguri is my second home. I was also the second longest serving theater commander since the commander was created, second to General Urabor”, he said.

He also appreciated the troops of Operation Lafiiya Dole, because according to him, he would have not achieve what he achieved if not because of their support and urged them to extend the same to the new theater commander.

He said ” I am happy that I am today still alive that I sm hading over to my deputy’s. I have went round the theater and today thank God He has spared my live and I zm leaving the command to my deputy who also knows the terrain and the operation of the theater. I hope he will continue from where I stopped. It is just like a moving vehicle and today I i am leaving to my spsir driver, who will keep the vehicle moving until we reached the destination.

Also in his remarks, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Major General Abdulmslik Bulama said ” you have came here and served, you have done your part but we are not yet there, I hope the new theater commander will take us to the Bus stop.”

Nigerian Army General Court Martial dismisses and sentences a soldier to 5 years imprisonment for defiling 13 year old girl

The 7 Division of the Nigerian Army General Court Marital has dismissed and sentenced, Corporal Aliyu Yakubu to 5 years imprisonment for defiling and assaulting a 13 years old teenager, Inna Fatima Modu of Gomari ward of Bama, town of Bama local area of Borno state, who is now 15 year.

The accused person Corporal Aliyu Yakubu who spent 11 years in service was arraigned before the 7 Division General Court Martial on 13 July , 2020 for two court charges of defiling and assault .

The accused, Corporal Aliyu Yakubu was said to have on 1st July, 2018 in the early morning saw a 13 year old Inna Modu who was coming back from her sister’s house and dragged her to an uncompleted building near Bama Prison where he beat her and forcefully had canal knowledge of her, while she was shouting, he removed her veil and cover her mouth, smashed her head to wall and hit her head with broken blocks untill she became unconscious.

While delivering his judgement at the Officers Mess of Maimlari cantonment, Maiduguri on Wednesday, the President of court, Brigadier General, Arikpo Ekubi said ” this General court Martial is hereby sentenced you, Corporal Aliyu Yakubu with service Ba)2009/63/263 as follows,, court 1;, 5 years imprisonment, court 2 dismissal from service .This sentenced is subject confirmation of higher military authority. This case is hereby closed.”

” This court has found your action as betrayal to the trust and confidence entrust on you by the Nigerian Atmy to ensure dignity and respect of those you are emoloyed to protect. by defilling and assaulting her. Your action is capable of denting the image of Nigerian Army, he added.

Earlier in his summary at the court, the Judge Advocate, Captain Aminu Mairuwa said ” Corporal Aliyu Yakubu with service NA)2009/63/263 was arraigned before this honourable Court on 13 July 2929 for defiling and assaulting a 13 year old girl of Gomari area of Bana town on 1st July 2918″.

” The accused denied the two court charges arguing that on the said date he was in Maiduguri on a referral treatment to the Army Hospital Maiduguri and that he was referred in 30th, June 2018 as he went to the motor park to and wait for a vehicle but could not get a vehicle and had to wait for the next day to travel and was able to see a doctor on 2nd July, 2018, After examination and cross examination by both defense and prosecuting counsels he was found guilty of the charges”,he said.

The defense counsel, Barrister, Babagana Zannah while pleading with the court asked the court to consider the 11 year service to the Army, his family background and as first offender temper justice with mercy.

He said “right from the beginning of trail, my client denied the charges. We are going to appeal the case’.

The Chief of Army Staff
Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai has Saturday inspected ongoing projects and facilities at Ngamdu army super camp.

Buratai said the visit was part of his continuation operational tour to the north east theater of Operation.

The Army chief was at Ngamdu today the 26 of September 2020, where he inspected ongoing construction and renovation projects as well as facilities in the camp.

He equally used the opportunity to assess the overall operational readiness of the camp.

“The Chief of Army staff was accompanied by the Chief of Training and Operations Army Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo, the Theatre Commander Operation LAFIYA DOLE Maj Gen Faruk Yahaiya, Chief of Military Intelligence Maj Gen SA Adebayo, Acting Provost Marshall Army Brig Gen Hussain Ahmed and Commander Sector 2 Operation LAFIYA DOLE Brig Gen OO Oluyede among other senior army officers”

Again ISWAP,/Boko Haram kidnapped site Engineer, A Carpenter along Maiduguri, Damasak Road

Again, members of the Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP), Boko Haram fighters have again abducted two workers along Maiduguri-Damasak road, on their way to Damasak to construct shelter for the Nigerian refugees returning from Diffa province in Niger Republic back to their ancestral homes.

The two abductees in a separate video clips released by the insurgents, appealed to the Borno state Governor, Professor, Babagana Zulum and the state Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR), Engineer, Mustapha Gubio to come to their rescue.

“My name is lawan modu karsami
I worked with Nganzai LGA, I am a project Engineer attached to construction site of Shelter in Damasak, the project for Nigerian refugees returning back to Damasak. We were captured by the Khailafa army and we are now in hostage with them”, Modu Karsami said.

He appealed to the commissioner for RRR, Engr Mustapha Gubio and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to cometheir rescue

Also speaking Ibrahim Musa while appealing to the government to come to his rescue said ” I am Ibrahim Musa a carpenter, we were captured by the Army of Khaliffa along Maiduguri-Damasak road on our way to Damasak to construct a shelter to the returning IDPs. “

” I appeal to the Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum and the commissioner of RRR to come to our rescue”, he added.
