Yobe Gov. Award scholarship to 69 graduates to law school

His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, the executive Governor of Yobe state, has awarded scholarship to 69 Yobe law graduates to study at the Nigerian Law School.

Speaking at the presentation of the scholarship award letters to the beneficiaries, Buni said his all inclusive administration will make provision of every necessary items for conducive and steadfast in studies without distraction and he tasked them on flying colours.

According to the Governor,  the beneficiaries will receive a cumulative package of about N38.4million covering their registration, tuition fees and wardrobe allowance.

“I therefore encourage you to dig in, and to study hard, and to roll up your sleeves. I encourage you to do your best so that one year from now, all of us here in the state will be so proud of you.

“I am very confident you would do Yobe proud, and shine as examples for those behind you who are now pursuing their law degrees here in our state university and in other institutions of learning across the country and the world.

“As you may have noticed, education is one of our administration’s key priorities. A good education is the key to a decent, middle-class life.

“Education is what prepares you for a life of service and equips you with the capacity to contribute to the development of your state and your nation. As someone said, “knowledge is the currency of today’s economy”.

“It is to re-position our education sector that our administration is taking various measures and committing so much resources so that our children in Yobe and our youths and all our people who want a good education can have access to it,” Mr Buni noted.

“We have also split the ministry of education into the ministry of basic and secondary education and the ministry of higher education so that we devote the attention and resources necessary to make each function effectively.

“And we are taking other measures to improve education, including science education through the establishment of STEM Schools,” he said.

Buni led Apc caretaker Committee to Lagos, Visits Bisi Akande & National Party leader, Tinubu

His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the executive Governor of Yobe state and the newly appointed National chairman caretaker extraordinary committee of the ruling all progressive Congress (Apc) on Thursday 2/7/2020 led his committee members to Lagos to meet with Bisi Akande and the National leader of the party and former Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Sen. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in it’s bid to achieve reconciliation of all aggrieved members of the party and to bring back the lost glory to the progressives.

According to Buni’s spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed, the meeting is currently underway in a bid to chart a new course for the party.

Those in attendance include Kebbi state Governor and chairman Progressives Governors Forum Sen. Abubakar Bagudu, Niger state Governor, Alh. Abubakar S. Bello and Lagos state Governor Babajide San-Olu,” he disclosed.

The Committee, had earlier met former interim Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.

The APC was thrown into leadership crisis following the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiohmole as the National Chairman and the endorsement of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman for two weeks by a court.

However, majority of the National Working Committee (NWC) members appointed the ailing Deputy National Chairman, South, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, as the Acting National Chairman.

The National Vice Chairman South South, Hilliard Eta, was subsequently appointed to act on his behalf.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, led by President Muhammadu Buhari dissolved the NWC and appointed Governor Buni as Chairman Caretaker/Extra-ordinary convention committee of the party.

Gov. Buni condoles with Borno Gov’t over the death of COS

His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe state, and the All progressive Congress (Apc) National caretaker chairman/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, commiserates with the government and people of Borno state over the death of Dr. Babagana Wakil mni, Chief of staff to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

Governor Buni described the death of the late Chief of staff as a painful loss to
Governor Zulum, the Government and People of Borno and Yobe states.

According to Buni, Borno and Yobe states still remain one people “every misfortune that affect one, affects the other” he said.

He also described the deceased as a complete gentleman who lived a life of service to humanity.

“Dr Babagana Wakil was a complete gentleman, a thorough breed dedicated public officer and an accomplished administrator”

The governor prayed almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatur Firdaus.

Gov. Buni also prayed that Allah grant his family, government and the people of Borno state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state, Dr Babagana Wakil is dead, he died of brief illness at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH)

Late Wakil died of brief illness at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH). The cause of the death of the Late Chief of Staff is not yet known..

The Special Adviser to Governor Zulum on Communication and Strategy , Mallam Isa Gusau in a statement issued on Wednesday said the burial of late chief of staff, Dr Babagana Wakil is scheduled to hold today Wednesday by 4pm at his extended family residence in Shehuri north, Maiduguri.

The statement said ‘Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. Jana’iza of late chief of staff, Dr Babagana Wakil is to hold 4pm today at his family residence in Shehuri north, Maiduguri. ”

While praying for repose of Late chief of Staff, Gusau said “May Allah, Subhanahu Wa ta’ala, in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, admit him into aljanna and give his family the strength to bear our collective loss.
