Mr. President, in case you are not property informed, it may interest you to know that of all the 7 highways that connect States in the region. Only one is safe and accessible to the common man and of recent, the safest Maiduguri Danaturu road has now became dead trap” , Shehu added.

“The main reason that the insurgents have resort to attacking people on the highway is because we have destroyed all their hideouts. We have sent then out of their hideouts on the shires of Lake Chad basin and in the mandara mountain, as a result of that they are now resorting to their former crime of attacking soft targets, abducting and kidnaping motorists along Maiduguri-Damaturu road. Even this attempt will definite fail. We are on top of the situation”, the theater commander added.

General Adeniyi said ” tell Shekau and Albarbawi that their dream of establishing a political entity within Nigeria is already a failed dream. I want to assure all Nigerians that Maiduguri Damaturu road is safe. They are not going occupy an inche under my leadership as theater commander”.

He advised motorists to adhered to the timing of road closure from 6:00om to 8’00am because it is aimed at safeguarding their lives and property and also not to stop to any roadblock except at the recognized checkpoints in Auno, Jakana. Minok, Benesheik, Ngamdu. Kukareta and Damaturu towns and villages..

I also want to use this medium to call on Shekau. Albarnawi and their members that if they continue to come out on the Maiduguri- Damaturu road it will be their grave. Even yesterday I slept on the Maiduguri Damaturu road. Let them come we are ready for them.
