Governor Zulum Cut short his 3 days visit to Ngala LGA over the shocked  news of the demise of Abba Kyari

AHMED MARI . Maiduguri

Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has on Saturday shelved his 3 days visit to Ngala local government area of the state, where he went to symptized with the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) over the fire incident in an IDP camp which claimed lives and property and also distribute some relief materials when he received the sad news of the demise of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

On receiving the sad news of the dead, Governor Zulum mobilized the IDP in different camps in Ngala local government to offer prayers to God for the repose of Alhaji Abba Kyari, late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari. Kyari hailed from Bama in Borno state.

The governor received the sad news at Gamboru, a border town in Ngala, where he passed the night, while on humanitarian visit to condole the people of the IDPs and also supervise distribution of food, cash and textiles to about 50 thousand internally displaced persons in different camps. The Governor departed Maiduguri on Friday morning to Ngala.

On Zulum’s request, chief Imam of Ngala town, Goni Awari Goni Kadiri led a gathering of other imams and displaced persons to offer prayers of forgiveness and eternal peace in favour of the deceased,

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raajiun (from Allah we all come from and to him we shall all return). We have lost one of our own, Alhaji Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the President. It is a big loss to us because Borno has just lost a rock. I was really shocked by news of his demise. I last spoke with him exactly weeks ago and he was in good spirit. I share the grieves of his immediate family, His Excellency, Mr President and the Presidency as well as his larger family, the people of Borno state. Alhaji Abba Kyari was a good man that was misunderstood by many people and whatever it is, his appointed time has come and every human will one day die, no matter how long we live and for this divine reason, good people or those with wisdom, do not celebrate the death of anyone”, Professor Zulum was quoted to have told the group of imams in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Isa Gusau..

Zulum further said ” I urge all of us here to pray for one of our own. Someone who was sincerely passionate about the fight against Boko Haram towards peace-building and restoration in Borno state, the northeast and Nigeria. I will like this gathering of Imams to lead prayers for the late chief of staff to have eternal peace. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, admit him into aljanna and give his family, other loved ones and the people of Borno state the fortitude to bear his demise”

The Governor had made similar call at different IDP camps in both Ngala and Gamboru towns when he addressed displaced persons.

While shelving his 3 days plan visit to Ngala local government area over the demise of Alhaji Abba Kyari, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum due to the humanitarian needs of IDPs went round all the camps to ensure them that measures were put in place for the State Emergency Management Agency and other assigned officials to carry-on with transparent distribution of N5,000 cash and wrappers to to each of 25,000 women as well as bags of food varieties to 20,000 male heads of households.

On arriving Ngala town from Maiduguri, Governor Zulum was a large camp for IDPs to sympathize with families of persons who lost their lives and those injured. Gov. Buni; A silent Achiever With Lean Resources

By Haruna Yusuf

Despite Yobe’s prudent management of funds, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the executive Gov of Yobe state, Spoke through his Director of press Mamman Mohammed said none of the projects that the governor inherited from the past administration or initiated have stopped since his assumption of office one year ago. His words: “Actually, all projects initiated or taken over by this administration are seeing the light of the day in terms of completion. One key project that I want you to note is the airport.

You are aware that this is a multi billion naira project initiated by the previous administration and as we talk now , we are expected to witness the first test landing at the runway which is a sign that the project is nearing completion. It’s a very capital intensive project running into billions of naira but this administration is completing the project.

“Again, if you look at the road project, this administration inherited some road projects that were initiated by the previous administration, like the Damaturu/Kallawan airport road dualization, 4km Damaturu/Potiskum road dualization and many others.

“One thing you should note is that none of the projects either initiated or inherited by this administration is suffering due to the prudent management of the state resources by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

“The governor had also announced that he will expand or build new primary healthcare centers in the 178 political wards in the state.

As we speak now, 53 have been completed and we still have three years to go in the administration. If we can do this in the first year, you can imagine what will happen in the next three years running.

“You remember the moribund factories in the state; the Aluminum, the Woven sacks and the Floor Mills which were abandoned for over ten years but this administration has revived them by investing resources in them and today all are producing at optimal capacity generating revenue to the state coffers and providing employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

“In the area of Education, the administration has also constructed seven model primary schools across the state. Five of such schools have been completed and the remaining two are 90 percent completed. Each of the schools is made up of a story build with 30 standardized class rooms.

These are project that is aimed to improve the standard of education in the state. Over three thousand Teachers were trained and retrained, about ten thousand teachers has been promoted.

“You can see that this administration has identified very key areas that have touched the lives of the people of the state positively. But to be direct, Governor Mai Mala Buni has never stopped any project as result of any financial problem.”
