2023 : Court of Appeal Orders INEC to include Senator Binani’s Name As APC’s Substantive Candidate,
quashes judgement annulling her election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Yola has quashed the earlier judgement of Federal high court annulling the election of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani as the 2023 Governorship candidate in Adamawa state.
Delivering the ruling in Yola Thursday the three judges led by Justice Tani Yusuf Hassan,the court advanced that the judgement delivered by the lower (Federal High court Yola) on the 14th October 2022 has been set aside for lacking in merit.
Justice Hassan directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to include the name of Senator Binani in all electoral process as the substantive candidate of the APC.
Commenting on the ruling, legal counsel to Senator Binani (Appealent), Barrister Tomisi Ologunrisa described it as “landmark judgement” stressing that the ruling will elevate the confidence of common man in the judicial system of the country.
In an interview with journalists legal counsel to APC, Barrister Sule J. Abu said that the ruling has shown that democracy have to come stay where the majority view is respected.
It could be recalled that the All progressives Congress,APC in Adamawa state has been grappling with internal crisis over the party’s primary elections which was conducted in May 2022.
