La’ori Seeks Ways To Prevent Flooding Around Numan, Demsa and Lamurde LGAs, Seeks Federal Government Interventions

Moved by the pitiable situations of victims while at the same time making attempts to proffer lasting solution to the annual flood in communities along River Benue in Numan/Demsa and Lamurde LGAs in Adamawa state.
The member Representing Numan/Demsa and Lamurde federal Constituency Hon. Kwamoti B. La’ori, has sponsored the visit of officials of the Ecological Project Office Abuja, to assess the level of damage done to affected communities in the area.
The visiting team which comprises of Engineers and Surveyor were in the area to carry out a survey of communities affected by flood, with a view to developing a comprehensive engineering design that will mitigate the impact of flooding every year.
Visiting Officials who included Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu, Engr. Aminu Tofiq Biodun and Engr. Bilya Fana, were also at the Palace of Hama Bachama, HRM. Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila (oon) Kpawo-nomwe, Gilongo -Diya, to intimate him on the importance of their visit and to also seek his Royal blessing.
Some inhabitants of the communities visited expressed optimism and hope that the annual disaster would soon be history given the level of interventions embarked upon by the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR).
Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori pledged to engage both legislative and extra- legislative means to ensure that flooding become a thing of the past.
The people commended the law maker for providing relief materials to victims and for the extra legislative effort he is making to prevent future occurrence.
The people who were visibly elated applauded the initiative while also pledging their continuous support and solidarity to the law maker. “We pledged to identify with him even as they prayed for him to succeed in all his endeavor” they said.
While interacting with Shafi’u Saleh our reporter in Yola, the leader of the delegation Ibrahim Salihu, commended the Member Representing Numan/Demsa and Lamurde, Hon. kwamoti La’ori, for the assistance rendered to his constituency to mitigate the soil erosion and flood.
He said “the projects made by the legislature is something valuable where he used his personal fund to see that such projects have been done well.
“The member deserve to be applauded considering the steps he has taken by inviting the members of the national ecological project office, Abuja to see to the projects of the people” he said.
On advising those residing beside the river Benue, the leader of the delegation said that, they should try to evacuate from such places to avoid the further occurrence of that thing that make them loss their property and other valuable worth millions of naira.
He said ” I have called on the government and the well meaning citizen to emulate the kind gesture of the member of Reps, I advised the people to rally round him and give more support at the next coming election” he said
