2023 : philanthropist turned politician builds police station in Adamawa town

A multi-billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist,Alhaji Ahmadu Hamman Dan-Maje has flagged off the construction of a state of the art police station in Dumne Town of Song local government area in Adamawa state.
Dan-Maje and the Senatorial Candidate of New Nigeria People’s party for Adamawa Central District while at the ground breaking ceremony of the project in Dumne town yesterday said peace and security of any meaningful society can not be toy with.
Dan-Maje informed the gathering at the event that he was personally touched with the plight of people of the area when some representatives of the town approached him for support to renew the annual rent for apartment used as a police station.
He stated that with the economic potentials in the area,social amenities like good road,electricity portable drinking water and secured environment are needed noting that the people should hold their elected representatives responsible for the neglect of their area.
“When contacted by your representatives as a community for renewal of house rent for the police division,I then made a vow to construct a permanent and befitting structure for police because of the importance I placed on security of lives and properties.
“I assure you that I will complete this project before my swearing in as your elected senator and to provide more dividends of democracy like road,water,schools if given the opportunity “.Dan-Maje stated.
In his remarks,president of Yugur Area Development Association (YADA),Philimon Bakari Amtombita expressed gratitude to Almighty God for bringing Dan-Maje to support their people and communities with a permanent structure to house the law enforcers in the area.
Amtombita who revealed that the gesture is the first in the area for a politician to personally offer a befitting project for the benefit of the public appealing to the senatorial hopeful to ensure completion of the project which will serve humanity.
He also urged the residents in the four wards of the town to reciprocate by pouring block votes to people with good intentions like Danmaje reminding them that the frequent visits of the politician (Danmaje) to the area .connotes seriousness and commitment.
Earlier in his address,Commissioner of Police,CP Sikiru Akande commended the politician for the gesture calling on other well meaning Nigerians to support and cooperate with the security forces.
Represented by Officer in charge of Works department of the command,SP Hassan Koji said the development will make the police to add more zeal and commitment in discharging their responsibility of protection of lives and properties in the state and country at large.
Our correspondent reported that the occasion was witnessed by a mammoth crowd of the Yungur villagers in high spirit of jubilation from the districts in the area including Diterra,Waltadi,suktu,Dirma and Dumne
