Governor Fintiri Escapes Being Hit By Tipper,Two Security Details injured

The convoy of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state was involved in an accident where two security details were fatally injured as two vehicles were badly damaged.
Eyewitness account revealed that the accident occurred at the premises of famous Agga juma’at Mosque, few metres away from Former Vice Atiku Abubakar’s resident at Dougirei weekend (Saturday) when Governor Fintiri attended wedding procession of daughter to one of his cabinet member.
The eyewitness told this reporter that the tipper fully loaded with sand suddenly ran towards the governor’s convoy on a high speed which seemed the driver had lost control while security details manning traffic flow at the venue scampered to safety.
He explained further that, the truck driver had managed to steer the truck away from the direction of the bullet proof bus conveying the governor to hit the official vehicles of the permanent secretary, Political and Security Affairs at the government house Yola and a Peugeot 406 conveying a government house press crew member (journalist)and the two injured policemen.
He confirmed that the police escort attached to the convoy thereafter assaulted the aged driver before whisking him away in their police pick up hilux to Motor Traffic Department for cautioning and subsequent detention.
However, the governor who came out unhurt was said to have personally rebuked the driver and transferred to a waiting Toyota jeep, saying the permanent secretary did not sustain any injury.
“The incident took place within the blink of an eye and only a sheer of luck saved the governor and other passengers sitting with him in the bus. See how armed security men ran for their lives before the truck halted after hitting the two vehicles.
A visit to the scene by this reporter only witnessed toying of the affected tipper to the MTD while the elderly driver was said to be detained.
Contacted for his response, Director General, Media and Communications to the Governor, Comrade Solomon Kumarga said to have traveled out of the state for an engagement.
