2023 Elections: Borno ADC Gubernatorial Candidate Call On IGP to Deploy More Policemen to Curtail Political Violence in The State

The Borno state Gubernatorial candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Hajiya Fatima Abubakar has expressed her concern over the increasing political violence in the state and called on the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali and the Borno state command to deploy more security to candidates, especially female candidates during the electioneering campaign.
The ADC candidate, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar who disclosed this in an interview with Journalists in Maiduguri yesterday said though she was not intimidate by the male dominance in the political landscape. If the former President and the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alh Atiku Abubakar can be attack during his campaign visit to Maiduguri, I don’t think anybody can be spared.
” I call on the IGP and the police in the state to consider deploying more security personnel to candidates, especially female candidates during campaign activities and after the elections”, the gubernatorial candidate stated.
Hajiytatima vowed to unseat Governor Babagana Zulum from the Government house, Maiduguri come 2023 general elections.
” I am optimistic that come 2023 I am going to win the Governorship election in Borno because Power belongs to God and He gives it to anyone he please at the appointed time he pleases.
” Secondly, the reason I am going to beat Governor Zulum because I have the support base of women who constitutes over 50 percent of the voters in the state “, the gubernatorial candidate added.
She said women and youths are tired of the empty promises made to them by male candidates, who have deceived them every time they are vying for elections and this time around they want to try female candidates who are known for honesty and integrity.
Hajiya Fatima said ” when selected into office, I would perdue policies and programs that would better the lives of women, children and youths who are vulnerable and mostly neglected..”.
“I join the gubernatorial race because whenever I see children of school she, especially girl child, Almajiris roaming about the streets,, unemployed youths,engaging in drugs abuse, women dying in the hospitals during pregnancies, I feel sadden that is why I am out to correct all , as a mother”, she added.
The ADC candidate said though Governor Zulum have been trying but his efforts is not good enough that was why she want offer herself to improve from the lapses of the incumbent Governor.
