2023 : Adamawa Govt. Suspends Activities of Local & International NGO’s For 3 Weeks.

The Adamawa state government has suspended the activities of both local and International humanitarian service providers(Non governmental Organisations) in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri announced the ban Tuesday in Yola during a statewide broadcast in connection with the presidential and National Assembly elections stressing that the government has discovered most of the Non governmental organisations have dabbled in to politics.
Governor Fintiri also warned potential trouble makers with the intention to disrupt or cause the break down of law and order due to collation of the Saturday’s elections which is still ongoing by INEC noting that any one caught would be dealt with decisively.
“It has been discovered that most Non-Governmental Organisations have swallowed the bug and are dabbling in to politics in the name of providing humanitarian assistance to the people.Government cannot fold its arms and watch such so-called NGO’s mislead the people and inject divisive tendencies into their psyche.
“In view of the foregoing and in furtherance of our desire to reorder the electoral behaviour of our people and remove the influence of the NGO’s who have reduce the statutory mandate of that one of vote buying, government has decided to suspend the activities of local and international Non-Governmental Organisations through out the state until 15th of March,2023,when the elections are done”.Fintiri said.
While commending the efforts of the stakeholders especially the security agencies and the media in maintenance of law and order,Governor Fintiri urge the citizens to remain calm while the announcement of the final outcome is being awaited.
