Monday Market inferno, APC National Chairman Visits Borno, Donates N100 Million to Victims

The National Chairman of the , All Progressive Congress (APC) has donated the sum N100 million to the victims of the unfortunate last Sunday’s fire incident that gutted Maiduguri Monday Market.
Presenting letter of sympathy to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House, Maiduguri on Friday, the National chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu said they were in Maiduguri to commensurate with the chief executive, leadership and the victims of Monday Market fire inferno
“It is my privileged to on behalf of our party present to you letter of sympathy and the sum of N100 million as our token assistance to the victims of the fire incident”, Senator Adamu said.
The National Chairman said “what God has destined, nobody can stop it, but we thank God, it could have been worse than this .But thank God no life was lost.. So we are with you . We pray this will be end of such unfortunate calamity”
The party (APC) leadership will stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this trying time, Your Excellency. We are therefore donating N100m to support you in providing relief to the victims of the unfortunate fire incident that happened on Sunday”, APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, said.
Responding, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state thanked the party leadership for coming to commensurate with the people of the state over the unfortunate inferno that gutted Maiduguri Monday market..
” Let me begin by welcoming our national chairman and his delegation for coming to commensurate with the people of Borno state over the unfortunate inferno that gutted Maiduguri Monday market . We did not expect something but he presented the donations of N100 million”, he addled.
Mr Chairman, I wish to, from the bottom of my heart, convey our deepest appreciation for this visit. We are indeed very grateful for your kind gesture of donating N100m to the victims. This amount will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the victims”, Zulum said.
The governor gave the assurance of judicious utilization of all funds donated in cushioning the hardships faced by victims of the Monday Market
The governor said when the fire gutted the market, the National chairman personally called and sympathised with him and told him he would be coming, adding that he has not only came but donated the sum N100 to the victims of the Monday market.
He assured that the funds would be judiciously utilized to the benefit of the victims.
The party chairman was accompanied on the visit by Senator Abubakar Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (North), Amb. Usman Sarki, Special Adviser on Policy, Amb. Habib Habu, Special Adviser on Protocol and Programme and Nata’ala Keffi, Special Adviser on Media.
