62nd Independence Anniversary: Operation Hadin Kai decorates 83 Officers, Others With Medals For Gallantry

The Northeast Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has decorated 83 soldiers and officers of the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy, Police, Nigerian Customs Service and other paramilitary, as well as journalist ‘s for their sacrifices and commitment in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency in the region, as part of activities to mark, 62 Independence Anniversary celebrations.
While speaking at the 62nd Independence Anniversary celebration and Operation Hadin Kai Medal presentation to officers and men of theater held at the headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri on Saturday. The theatre commander also did not left the outstanding Journalist’s who sacrificed their life in covering every event and achievement recorded by the military and other security agencies, among the Borno state correspondent who were honored with medal is the reporter for Daily Hint Newspaper, Madu Mohammed for his exceptional gallantry.
The theater Commander, Major General Christopher Musa said the awardees were drawn from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF and Navy, Police, Department of State Service (DSS), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), the Correctional Service, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Civil Defense and the Civilian JTF.
The theater Commander said ” I want congratulate everyone ad we celebrate 62 years Independence Anniversary and award of Operation Hadin Kai medal for your participation, sacrifices, gallantry and commitment in the fight against insurgency “.
“Today we are celebrating our independence anniversary by honouring troops of OPHK, paramilitary, media and the civilians,. I therefore, congratulate the medalists on the milestone of the independence anniversary.”, HD said
General Musa commended the troops for serving their fatherland with love, strength and faith; bounded by freedom in unity and extolled them and other security agencies for building a nation where peace and justice reigned.
HD further said that the joint counter-terrorism operations are to restore law and order, extinguish all flames and acts of terrorism and criminality through kinetic and non-kinetic approaches and to all forms of insecurity in the Northeast.
The theater Commander said that the operations are being conducted in Sambisa Forest, the Tumbuktu triangle and Mandara Mountains in protecting people’s lives and property, adding that over 60, 300 communities and captives were liberated and rescued from the forest and Lake Chad region.
