Adamawa APC Chairman,Bilal impeached for alleged gross misconduct and maladministration

The state executive members of the Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress have passed a vote of no confidence on the party’s chairman,Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal for alleged gross misconduct,corruption and maladministration.
Following Bilal’s removal,the deputy chairman,Ismaila Tadawus was immediately sworn as the Acting chairman of the party with twenty five (25) out of the thirty six (36) of the officials.
Addressing a press conference in Yola Monday,state publicity secretary of the party,Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi said the state executive committee resolved after exhausting all diplomatic means for the impeached Chairman to addressing some nagging issues begging for attention.
Hon Abdullahi stated that the action taken was as a result of the embattled chairman (Bilal’s) failure to respond to allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him as enshrined in their party’s constitution.
Abdullahi mentioned some of the allegations against the chairman to be anti-party activities,arrogance and unruly behaviour citing instances such as personally working against the APC Adamawa Northern Senatorial candidate, Senator Ishaku Cliff Abbo as well as alleged physically assaulting former Governor of Kebbi state,His Excellency Saidu Nasamu Dakin Gari during party primaries in the state.
“On the 26 August 2022,Twenty-five members of the state Executive committee issued a formal complaint to three executive officers of the party over constitutional violation which constitute gross misconduct in line with the spirit of fair hearing as provided by the constitution.
“The persons involved are the chairman of the party,Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal,the secretary of the party, Hon Raymond Chidama and the treasurer of the party Alhaji Yahya Hammanjulde.They were given seven (7) days grace to respond to the allegations which elapsed on the 1st September 2022.
“The Secretary and Treasurer acknowledged receipt of our petition and promised to respond to us soon but the chairman of party either acknowledged receiving the petition nor respond to grave allegations to clear his name.
“As a result of this gross failure,we hereby resolved to invoke article 21.5 (vi) of the party’s constitution which vested us with the powers to pass a vote of no confidence on him this day of September 2022”.The party decided.
When contacted through mobile phone interview for his response,the embattled chairman,Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal declined comment saying he was in a meeting.
