AIG Abubakar Calls For inter Agency Cooperation’, Synergy in Tackling Boko Haram, other Crimes

The New Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 15, AIG, .Yahaya Abubakar, has solicited for inter agency synergy among security agencies in tackling Boko Haram insurgency and other crimes as he assumes duty as the 3rd Assistant Inspector General of Police of the Nigeria Police Force Zone 15 Headquarters, Maiduguri
The Nigerian Police Force, zone 15 in a statement signed by its spokesman,
DSP Geoffrey Atsacha, Anipr said the New AIG pledges to work together with the Nigeria Armed Forces and other Security Agencies in Borno and Yobe States to strengthen and sustain the improved Security Situation in the two States.
AIG Abubakar also calling for inter-Agency Cooperation and Intelligence sharing for enhanced crime control and public safety in the Zone, also Solicited for the support of the general Public in this regard.
AIG Yahaya Abubakar is an indigene of Uba Town, in Hong LGA of Adamawa State and a Member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, having attended the Senior Executive Course 44 in 2022 also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) Degree from the Premier University in Northern Nigeria, the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and attended the Nigerian Law School Victoria Island, Lagos, where he obtained a Barrister at Law Certificate (BL). enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force, as a member of Cadet ASP Course 17 in May 1992.
The AIG has served in different capacities across the country in the areas of Crime Management and Public safety, Investigation, Administration; and Operations. In the course of his career,
AIG Abubakar also held many strategic positions in the Force, including the following: -Commissioner of Police, Yobe State (2019 – 2021);
Commissioner of Police, Community Policing Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja (2019);, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General of Police (2014 – 2015);, legal Adviser to the Honourable Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC) and Police Liaison Officer to the Commission (2008 – 2012);
Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Legal Unit, Force CID Abuja (2017); Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of State CID Port-Harcourt, Rivers State (2015 – 2016);,Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations, Kaduna State Command (2018 – 2019) Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of the Department of Administration in Kogi and Plateau States Commands (2016 – 2017) and 2017 – 2018), respectively.
The AIG who also served in two (2) foreign missions abroad, including the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), where he served as a Senior Police Adviser to the Somali National Police is a recipient of many awards and commendations for excellence and meritorious service, both at home and abroad.
The AIG solicits for maximum support and Cooperation of the general public in Borno and Yobe States as he sets to sustain the prevailing peace and Stability in the zone.
