BOSG demolishes ice Block Factory for illegal connection to street light, Land Encroachment,.

The Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS), has demolished an ice block factory for illegally connecting the business premises to street lights powered by generator and for land encroachment.
The Executive Secretary of the BOGIS, Enhr Adam Bababe said the factory which has about thirty improvised industrial fridges illegally tapped to street lights powered by generators provided by Borno state government in new GRA, Maiduguri metropolis.
Engr Bababe further explained that the illegal act has led to the damage of two 250kv generators purchased by the Borno state government in the last one year.
The Executive Secretary said a good Samaritan reported the matter to the relevant authority and after thorough investigation the culprit was arrested by security operatives.
He further explained that the premises was in January this year marked for illegal encroachment on road reservation before unravelling the recent act.
Alhaji Bababe said the activity of the economic saboteur has brought untold hardship to the community which informed residents to closely monitor the illegal act.
He therefore, warned other economic saboteurs to desist or face the full wrath of the law., as government has out in place all necessary measures to checkmate this ugly trend.
Speaking to journalists in an interview, a resident of new GRA Mohammed Al’amin claimed that the culprit attempted to bribe him with N1 million (one million Naira) but he resisted.
Al’amin said the act was uncovered around one o’clock Tuesday morning and immediately reported the incident to security agents.
