Buratai held interrative with operation lafiya dole troops in maiduguri

Tukur Yusuf Buratai has held a Durbar with the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole fight Boko haram insurgent in the Northeast.

Durbar which held at the Multi purpose Hall of the Cm and Guest House, Maiduguri vanue of 2019 COAS Durbar, is an interactive between the Chief of Army Staff and the soldiers to usually carried out to know their problems and challenges with view to addressing them

Whole addressing over 260 soldiers from rank of Warrant officer to privates exclusively without their commander,, General Buratai urged them to feel free voice out problems and challenges.and promised to address squarely all operational challenge administrative issues, welfare and logistics complaints of the Nigerian troops at the front line fighting Boko haram insurgency Wednesday.

He said: “I promise to address any problem that You freely raised iwhether it is short or medium or long term term..I want you to feel free and talk to me and say your mind, Nobody will panelize you for anything you will say.”

“All what I want is for you to tell me the truth. Don’t tell me lies. Say the truth and I w address the issue. I know you have some issues you want to talkt about without your commanders here,

General Buratai said the 2019 COAS Durbar is an annual interactive session strictly between the COAS and troops that is being held annually as a think tank and facts finding session for the COAS to know their real problems and issues bordering the minds of the troops in their respective units.

He said that the Durbar has become part of the Nigerian Army customs and traditions at every unit to hold Durbar with the troops for them to bear their minds on logistics, welfare, operational issues and any other complaints they want to lay.

“This is a privilege for you to have opportunity with me (COAS) to interact with me directly. I have held this kind of Durbar in the past twice in Maiduguri. Once in Damasak in.2018 and also once in 2016 in Maiduguri.

“Issues of welfare equipment, logistics, general administration, challenges and solutions. Talk as professional soldiers talking to their COAS directly, physically without hinderamce, free and without any responsibility to be attached to any complaint,” Buratai said.

Speaking to newsmen after the interactive session with the CAOS, the RSM 7 Division, Warrant Officer Galadima Zakari thanked the COAS for giving them opportunity to speaking tjier challleges.

‘ we interact the COAS, our father and he promised to address all our challenges be it operational,or welfare ‘. Durbar has been done at unit, to brigade levels but thank God today we had the opportunity of interacting and having dinner with the COAS”,, he said.

Gov. Buni commiserates with Emir of Fika over Fire Outburst

His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, The Executive Governor of Yobe state, has on Monday commiserated with the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe state Council of chiefs, Alh. Muhammadu Abbali ibn Muhammadu Idrisa, over unfortunate fire incident at the Palace.

Governor Buni described the fire inferno that consumed a chamber at the Palace as a great loss to the emir, the Emirate and the state.

“l am deeply saddened by the sad news of the fire incident today at the palace of His Highness, the Emir of Fika.

“However, we are all consoled and give thanks to Almighty Allah that no life was lost nor injuries recorded” he said.

The governor asked the Emir to have faith that this was destined to happen at this moment and prayed that it never happen again.

Democracy Day: Borno NUJ applauds Governor Zulum for executing 556 projects in 741 days

The Borno state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ had applauded the Borno State Government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for executing 556 projects within 741 days in office.

The NUJ in a statement jointly signed by its chairman Bulama Talba and it’s Secretary, Mohammed Ibrahim said ‘”indeed this feat has no doubt justified the NUJ award in 2019 conferred on Governor Zulum as the Most Promising First Time Governor in the Country as well as other awards and recognitions within and outside Borno State due to the numerous peoples oriented projects on the ground.”

“As the Government and citizens celebrate democracy day the Union salutes their courage and resilience as well as never dying spirit which has gradually contributed to the restoration of peace in more communities with sustained programmes and prayers that should be further complemented with useful information to security operatives whom we expect to deal a final blow to end the insurgency bedevilling our dear state, the union stated.

The NUJ said “we appeal to the State Government to see reason to improve the processes of resettlement of IDPs to their original communities as well as the review the cases of local government civil servants affected by the ongoing verification by re-engaging them.”

The statement further said “We remind the public to be rest assured that all of the working journalists in Borno State remain ever dedicated to continuously push our pen to promote the interests and image of the State towards the full revival of its glory by the will of the Almighty Allah, Happy democracy day.’,
