Empowerment : Adamawa Govt. partners NEDC On Schools Renovation as N4.4b Expended On Skills Acquisition Trainings.

The Adamawa state government has collaborated with the North East Development Commission,NEDC to renovate more schools that were destroyed by the Boko Haram Insurgency in the state.
Head of the state Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA),Aishatu Bawa Bello made the disclosure at a press conference in Yola weekend stressing that the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration has been creating ways for the populace to benefit dividends of democracy through her Agency.
Mrs Bello announced that over 20,000 beneficiaries have accessed various skills acquisition and empowerment programmes floated by the Agency since the inception of Governor Fintiri’s government noting that N4.4 billion has so far expended on the project.
Bello explained that among the support and intervention given to the people included ; training of starters,technical support to business owners and entrepreneurs as well as allocating social welfare packages to those in dire situations.
According to her the sum of N2.44 billion has been approved to her Agency in the 2023 budget noting that indigenes in the state receives social support ranging from N10,000 to N50,000 which she said shouldn’t be misconstrued as SA allowances.
She stated that currently 2 700 students are receiving various skills acquisition trainings across the skills acquisition training centres in the state with a view to reducing unemployment rate among the young generation.
She said that the Agency is currently developing a portal on the internet where all its activities can be accessed including admission processes.
While pledging that the Agency will redouble its efforts serving humanity,Mrs Bello added that a special package has been introduced to Carter for people living with disabilities,PLWDs and entrepreneurship development for potential retirees.
