Former Adamawa Gov. Bindow meets Atiku in London, defects from APC to PDP – Bindow support group

As the Febuary 25th 2023 elections draws near, there are strong indications that Former Adamawa State Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow and his political group have shift base from All Progressives Congress,APC to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.
Just few days ago Gov. Bindow met with Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in London, preparatory to his defection back to the PDP.
Likewise, the supporters of the former governor, under the aegis of Bindow Support group declared their support to the re-election bid of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for second term.
Bindow Support Group, led by the leader of the group, Aliyu Bakari, in the state officially, declared the group was collapsing it’s structures into the PDP, during an elaborate event staged by Governor Fintiri to accept members of the group and it’s members across the 21 Local government areas into the PDP.
During the event which was held at the banquet hall of the government house, Bakari, said, the decision of group, to dump the APC, enjoys the blessings of their principal, Jibrilla Bindow, whom he said would soon be joining them in the PDP.
However yesterday (Thursday)in Tola town of Mayo-belwa local government area during a campaign engagement, for the PDP presudentisl and governorship campaign council, attended by Governor Fintiri’, his running mate Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta-Geoge, Aliyu Bakari and Ibrahim Sebore, leader Bindow Support group, for Mayo-Belwa council, explained that the group’s support, for both the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Governor Fintiri’, to ensure their success in the 2023 polls is without any pre-condition.
Bakari said, ” We are here on the orders of our leader, former Governor Bindow, to support the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Fintiri, to victory in 2023. Perhaps, you have heard over the radio or the TV, that the, Bindow support group has collapsed it’s structures into the PDP. People have been asking us, we the Bindow supporters, the whereabout of our leader. Yesterday (Wednesday), he was in London to confer with the Wazirin Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar, to finalize his defection. So, any one who still wants to know where Bindow, is, tell him Bindow has pitched his tent, with Atiku Abubakar and the PDP. We are not coming with any condition, we are investors who believe in the Adamawa project. We are investing in the Adamawa project to reap the rewards when the investment matures. So our, support is without any pre-condition.”
The PDP state Chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu, who welcomed, the group, into the PDP, directed, the party, in all the 21 council areas, in the state to integrate the Bindow supporters into its campaign structures for the 2023 elections.
