German Support Made insurgency Not To Escalate To Europe- Zulum

The Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has said without the support of German government through humanitarian intervention, Boko Haram insurgents and members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) would have recruited Borno and the Northeast into their folds, as well as the insurgency would have escalated to the Europe..
Governor Babagana Zulum, who disclosed this during a high level visit by the German Foreign Affairs Minister, Annalena Baerbock to Ngarannam community, on Monday, said the huge German support has curtailed the escalation of Boko Haram insurgency and USWAP to Europe and the entire world.
“Without this support, I believed that many youth would have join ISWAP, join ISIS and that would have caused problem not only to the Northeastern states, the entire northern Nigeria but also to the entire Europe and the entire world” Zulum said
The Governor said that the Regional Stabilization Facility amounting to €50 million, which Germany is the highest contributor, had tremendously supported the government and people of Borno State.
He said “through the stabilization facility we were able to resettled nothing fewer than 45,000 people and Police stations were reconstructed, means of livelihood were provided. You can see that more than 3000 are living in Ngaramman community and this is only one of the 8 communities that Germany had so far intervened.”
Governor Zulum said ” contributing to the RSF you are providing livelihood to our people, and this people would not have chance to join ISWAP or ISIS, reducing crises in the entire sub-saharan Africa, and the entire sahelian region and therefore, I remain grateful the government of Germany for all the support to us” .
Also speaking, the German Foreign Affairs Minister,, Annalena Baerbock said that building communities in the state would help in fighting terrorism, give children future through education, and good healthcare facilities.
“Therefore, working together as European partners, as German partners in peace stabilization process here, and we would work on security, education, and also supporting health .Education is the best promise for the coming future and we can see how important it’s here to engage the communities because people know the best way to build future for their children”
