Gov. Buni Set to open Yobe jobs portal for unemployed graduates

Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Saturday instructs the ministry of youth, sport and social development to as a matter of urgency, open a jobs portal for the collection of credentials of unemployed and willing graduates of all cadres in the state.
Though, the Yobe state jobs portal is about to go public/online and it will begin the capturing of information of all teaming and unemployed and willing graduates of different cadres, into the state civil service, the state, federal and local government services depending on qualification and professionalism.
The latest information came to limelight through the commissioner for information, home affairs and culture, Hon. Abdullahi Bego, he also advised the teaming unemployed and willing youth to get their CVs ready for onward logging and submission as soon as the Jobs portal is set.
His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, the executive Governor of Yobe state, has before now, organized a programme through sustainable development goals (SDGs) a programme that trained youths on different skills acquisition and were equipped after passing the programme.

Deforestation: Borno urges citizens to desist, threatens to prosecute defaulters

The Borno state government has called on those engaged in tree falling to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

Governor Babagana Zulum disclosed this on Saturday at the launching of 2021 Tree planting in commemoration of ” World Environment Day”,with the theme ” Ecosystem Restoration” held at the Borno state University, Maiduguri

Represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, Governor Zulum said preserving our ecosystem for a clean and healthy environment is necessary for the development of the state, i therefore, warn all those engage in tree falling , indiscriminate disposal of refuge, to desist or be forced to face the full wrath of the law”.

” The Borno state government has already raised 500,000 assorted seedlings and another 500,000 seedlings are being raised for this year planting season, therefore, I urge all citizens to plant tree in your homes and offices to preserved the environment”, the governor added.

He also directed all local government chairmen to plant trees in their respective LGAs and also enforced the monthly sanitation exercise, stressing out that the state government will monitor and reward the most clean LGA.

Zulum said ” Government is making concerted efforts to preserve the environment for clean and healthy society in collaboration with clubs, associations, Non Governmental Organisations among other partners.”

Earlier, the Borno state commissioner for Environment, Barrister, Kakashehu Lawan said “we are here, as parts of activities to mark this year’s ” World Environment Day” with a theme ” Ecosystem Restoration which is been commemorated every, 5 day of June, a day set aside by the United Nations to remind the public and create awareness for the need to safeguard our environment .”

” This year, we are targeting to plant about one million seedlings and we are going to plant 2,000 Neem trees in these university. We are also going to deploy forest guard, Civilian JTF, and Agro rangers to look out for those engaged in deforestation with a view to punish them.”, Lawan added.

The commissioner also banned the sell of firewood and charcoal within the state capital, except in a dedicated market allocated to them along Maiduguri Damboa road.

His Excellency, Dave Umahi the executive Governor of Ebonyi state has on Sunday visited Yobe state Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.

He said “you are doing well Your Excellency our Chairman.

“You have truly repositioned the party and APC is now very attractive. More people are coming ” he commended the Chairman.

If you remember before the appointment of Gov. Buni as the caretaker chairman the ruling All progressive Congress (APC) was suffering from internal crisis, but immediately Buni took over, he began wide consultant and canvassing for aggrieved faithful member who left for lack of fairness.

Buni before now, is known as mister fixer, All-inclusive leader and an astute manager of people in all ramifications, very consistent and a man with few words, his word is his bond and people attest to it. That’s the more reason people are defecting from other party to APC because of his exemplary leader.

In the quest to reduce maternal child mortality rate in the rural communities, Yobe State government has procured additional 60 Tricycle Ambulances to enhance emergency referrals and transport schemes at the cost of N179,903,700.00

The Commissioner of Yobe State Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana disclosed this during the second day of the first ministerial briefing to mark the second anniversary of Governor Mai Mala Buni held on Wednesday at the NUJ Secretariat, Damaturu amid strict Covid-19 preventive measures.

He said “in order to ensure all facilities both public and private provide high quality services in safe environments, a committee on standards, quality and regulations was constituted.


“Marked improvements have been recorded in quality of services and responsiveness of health workers in the pilot facilities of Yobe State Specialist Hospital, Damaturu, Yobe State University Teaching Hospital and Women and Children Hospital”.

“His Excellency’s stewardship role and policies such as one functional and standard Primary Health Care systems in each ward, one General Hospital in each Local Government Area headquarters, the policy of employment of indigenous health workers, provision of incentives during their training”.
