Gov. Mai Mala Buni, CON Wins ODF Achievement Award

In appreciation of Yobe state Governor’s commitment to the fight against Open Defecation, the World Toilet Organization (WTO) has honoured Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, with the National Open Defecation Free (ODF) achievement award.
The award was presented to Governor Buni in Abuja at the 2022 World Toilet Summit, hosted by Nigeria.
The organisation said Governor Buni and others were honoured for the improvement in curbing open defecation in their respective states.
“The awards are in recognition of your giant strides in combating open defecation in your respective States” the WTO said.
The organisation also honoured President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, the United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Amina Mohammed and other state governors for their efforts in the fight against open defecation.
The summit was attended by the World Bank and UNICEF among other key stakeholders in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
