Gov. Mai Mala Buni slashed the Cost of 2,350 Housing Units by 50%

His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, the executive Governor of yobe state, has slashed the cost of 2,350 housing units constructed by his administration through the Family Home Funds by 50 percent to enable civil servants earns home of their own.
The Yobe State Housing and Property Development Corporation had, in a schedule of payment of the 2,350 affordable houses said those benefiting with 3 Bedrooms Urban were to pay 5,675,540.00. 2 Bedrooms Urban 4,300,050,79. 2 Bedrooms Rural 3,000,050.84 payable within 15 years.
Governor Buni who announced the discount during a budget presentation before the Yobe State House of Assembly said the project was part of his administration’s commitment to providing decent and affordable accommodation to the citizens.
He said, “Mr Speaker, Honourable Members, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, as you are aware, this administration has constructed 2,350 housing units through the Family Home Funds.
“It is indeed the largest housing intervention in the history of the State which is intended to provide decent accommodation and to address housing deficiency in the State.
“The houses have already been allocated to our people on an owner occupier basis.
“I am glad to state that in line with the policy of our administration to make life meaningful for our people.
“I wish to inform the Honourable House that I hereby approved a 50% slash of the cost of the houses to each beneficiary”, Governor Buni stated.
