How I earned the‘King of Kannywood’ trophy – Ali Nuhu expresses

African Nigerian Kannywood and Nollywood – actor, director and producer, Ali Nuhu Mohammed simply identified as Ali Nuhu disclosed that, in an interview with The Daily Trust Newspaper how he held the ‘King of Kannywood’ or ‘Sarki Ali’ in Hausa dialect as tagged by the media title. The veteran actor, who was born in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state and raised in Kano and Jos, has appeared in more than 500 Kannywood and Nollywood films, and gotten numerous tributes. The 48 years old actor obtained Bachelors of Art degree in geography from the University of Jos, before he later proceeds to University of Southern California for a course in film production and cinematic arts. The leading actor has been awarded with a Doctorate Degree in Entrepreneurship and Youths development in 2018 by the Adonai American Cotonou.
Nuhu debut his carrier in Kannywood in the year of 1999 with a film ‘Abin Sirri ne’ though his atmosphere of recognition started after an excellent roles he played in one of the popular Hausa-film ‘Sangaya’ before he started producing his own films around 2000s. The most popular films his company, FKD which is Fatima Karderam Digema produced are: Adamsy, Gamu Nan Dai, Madubin Dubawa, Mansoor, Ni Da Ke Mun Dace and Sai Wata Rana, Sirrin Da Ke Raina, Zuri’a, among others. Ali Nuhu recruits many more actors and actress in the Hausa film industry that’s why many people thinks he is called ‘the king of kannywood.’
The award winning actor explained that in an interview with the Trust Newspaper, the rationale behind of his success is due to hardworking and dedication. He added that the reason why he is called ‘Sarki or King Ali’ probably is due to “professionalism and the intrigue I create,” he said.
It has been gathered that Ali Nuhu is the richest and a well popular in the Hausa-film industry or Kannywood with a net worth $1 million. It has also been revealed that Dr. Ali Nuhu has appeared in over 29 award nominations cutting across various sectors of the entertainment Academy Award (AMAA), which he has won three times.
