NEDC Delivers Food And Non-fFood Relief Materials to Victims of Flood in Adamawa.

The North East Development Commission, NEDC has presented food and non-food items worth millions of naira to Adamawa state government.
Delivering the items in Yola weekend, Managing Director of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali said the development was part of the cardinal principles of the commission to render assistance and support in area of need for the six states in the Northeast zone of the country.
Alkali stated the commission pledged to the states in the zone during the humanitarian summit held in Borno in August to bring intervention to states in areas of need.
Alkali noted that with the flood challenge across the globe his commission after due consultation with critical stakeholders decided to support all the six states affected by the natural phenomenon to cushion the effects.
He appealed to the governor to ensure necessary measures are applied for the real flood victims to benefit the support.
Receiving the relief materials on behalf of the state government, Secretary of the state government, SSG, Bashiru Ahmad expressed appreciations of Adamawa state government for the kind gesture.
Ahmad assured that the government will make sure those targeted for the intervention get it without further delay.
Our correspondent in Yola reported that, items delivered by the commission included :10,000 bags (25KG)of assorted rice,5,000 blankets,5,000 mats,3,000 gallons of vegetable oil.
Other Non-food items includes;5,000 of wrappers,3,000 of shadda clothes as well as 3,000 children wears accordingly.
