PDP Chieftain Dumps Party, Joins APC in Yobe
By Usman Bello, Damaturu
Yobe Governor, His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, today received a PDP chieftain, Alh. Haladu Mohammed, who decamped to the APC.
The Peoples Democratic Party in Yobe state continues to deplete threatening the already very lean fortunes of the party.
PDP has in recent times recorded monumental loss with mass exodus of its founding leaders in the state.
The party lost Alh. Abbagana Tata, a former chairman and Governorship aspirant of the party and Hajiya Masafaram, the strong woman of Yobe North politics, who defected along with thousands of their supporters to the APC.
Tata and Masafaram had been loyal members of PDP for 23 years but joined APC to support Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration in the task of building the state.
Politicians in the state have predicted that the party would suffer early morning defeat in the state in the 2023 general election.
Meanwhile, some of the few remaining members of the party have also indicated interest of moving into the APC.
“We are making some few consultations, l assure you we will also join APC very soon” a PDP member who refused his name mentioned said.
