Post insurgency Recovery, UNDP, Borno Government Commissioned 80% Housing Units

As parts of regional and post insurgency stabilization effort’s, the Borno state government in collaboration with the United Nations, Development Programmed (UNDP) have handed over 804, housing units to the returning Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) back to Ngaranam community of Mafa local government areas .
Speaking at the Official commissioning and Handing over of 664 Rebuilt Nganaram Community in Mafa, the headquarters of Mafa local government area of Borno state, President Muhammadu Buhari, reiterated the Federal Government to the resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno state and Northeast region in General.
While Commanding Governor Zulum for his leadership and commitment toward restoration of peace, President Buhari represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari , commended the resilience and courage of the people of Ngabaram community and Borno state at large.
He said the Federal Government will continue to work with the Borno state government and the international community for safe and dignified returned of the IDPs, stressing that the FG is committed to the regional stabilization facility through proper funding .
He commended the returned of the Nganaram community for their courage and resilience, saying that , stressing that “there is nothing the terrorists hate mist than the return of normalcy back to the communities they inflicted pains.”
Also speaking, the UNDP Resident Representative Ambassador Mohammed Yahaya ” we are welcoming the people of Nganaram and Mafa back communities, Secondly, I want to celebrate with you on your coming back, home. You have suffered a lot. I want tell you that the the Governments is with you, the International community is also with you.”
“I commend. the FG and the International community for their commitment to see that Borno is being rebuild better. This program is an peace is gradually return to the Northeast. for you and We want assure you that the international community us with you and we will continue to be with until you need us no more”, UNDP representative tressed.
Also, the Executive Secretary
lake Chad Commission, Amb Mamman Nuhu said physical stability us achieved through the resettlement and start up pact as livelihood supports to the returnees,.
He said the ” Implementation of the regional stabilization action plan remains one of the critical pillar that will spur us to achieved peace in the region to the beneficiaries, I urged you to put in good use the facility.”.
In their separate remarks, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali and the Theater Commander, Major General, assured the returnees of their commitment in ensuring the safety and security of the area.
In his welcome address, the Borno state Commissioner Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement , Engr Mustapha Gubio said a total of 664 are to be commissioned , 500 houses constructed by the UNDP 304 by the Borno state government and 504 for the people of :muktari, Nganaram, Duguri, Limanti among other villages.
“Let me place on record that my ministry most benefits. . we have over 10,0,00 housing units and so far 12 communities benefitted., he added.
