Reps Member La’ori Moves To Mitigate the impact of Flood On Food Security in his Constituency

Owing to the devastating effects of flood disaster where many have been rendered helpless, Farmers in Numan/Demsa/ Lamurde have been aided through an empowerment initiative by the member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde at the National Assembly Hon Kwomati Laori.
The federal law maker who sponsored the distribution of Water Pumps, Herbicides, Knapsack Sprayers and Fertilizer to farmers in his Constituency, believed the gestures will go a long way into ameliorating the plight of those affected, he used the opportunity to called peoples of his constituency to use the farms inputs judiciously.
He give the charge at Numan Government Lodge while distribute the farm inputs to them.
Hon La’ori said considering the recent flood that ravaged farms of some of people in his community, with this he said that assistance must be given to them so as to prepared them for the dry season farming and he called on the beneficiary to use the gesture for the purpose intended.
The member assured people of his constituency that such gesture will continue to come to their way and with this he advised them to rally round to give him their supports so as to get more democratic divided.
Stakeholders who witnessed the occasion applauded the Reps member for coming to the aid of the farmers at the time it is needed the most.
They described the effort as apt and timely as it would boast the morale of the farmers who have since commenced land preparation for the dry season cropping in the area.
In his remarks the Commissioner of Tertiary Education Prof. Dishe Khobe has applauded the member over the gesture by coming to the aid of his people in his constituency by providing them with farms inputs.
He appealed to the people of the constituency to come out in mass to support the cost of the member so this that he will provide them with more.
Deputy speaker of house of assembly Rt Hon Pwamackno Makondo have expressed his gratitude to the member by coming to the aid of this people and he called on the beneficiaries to use it accordingly.
The executive Chairman of Numan LG Christopher Sofore, also said that such gesture should have come at the better time than now due to the way the people have been in bad condition over the recent heavy rain that destroyed people farms and with this he commended the member for such.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Matthew Ibrahim and Dimas Bello, Elder Amna Fare, promise to use the items for the purpose intended and promise to support the member in his cost.
The gesture which is clearly aimed at mitigating the impact of flood that ravaged the area in October where crops and farmlands were destroyed, is expected to also uplift the spirit of victim who appear despondent.
Highlights of the event was a cultural dance display by the Bachama Traditional Dance Groups.
