By Madu Mohammed. Maiduguri

The Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has said that he saw his children only three times in the first 65 days in office, adding that to rule a small country is easier than ruling Borno state

The Governor who disclosed this at a media chat to mark his one year anniversary which held at the Government House, Maiduguri, yesterday said ” ” Ruling Borno is like ruing a small country, within my 65 days in office, I was in Government House and i was able to see my children 3 tines only.. The existing tradition we had in public and private sector were not good. How do we increase the trust between government and the govern, that was why in less 10 day of my inauguration I was in Kala balge, and southern Birno all to build trust and confidence between the government and govern”,.

The most difficult challenged I had in the last one year is that of good governance and discipline. The duo are major challenges but thank God we were able to seamount it .the Major challenge I faced in the last one year when I assumed office on 29th, May. 2019 Ware the issues of good governance and discipline. ”

“.I also hold security dearest to my heart because the nexus between peace and development cannot be over emphasis. If there is no peace there will be no development and if there is no development there will be no peace. So among my 10 pact agenda I hold security dearest to my heart because it effect majority of my people”, Governor Zulum said

He said ‘” kinetic approach to addressing insurgency cannot solve the crisis., we need to address the root cause of the insurgency, that was why I have been moving from one local government to another in our efforts to provide food and livelihood to our people. so that the insurgents would not recruit them . we are addressing the root cause which are hunger, poverty and unemployment.”

“Since I assumed office, there is no local government in the state that I have not visited, some I visited three or four times, all these is to build confidence and bridge the gap between the government and the govern. We have been strengthening the resilience of our people through peace building. We are able to bridged the existing gap between government and the govern”

Governor Zulum said ” being a pioneer commissioners of the ministry of Reconstruction. Rehabilitation and Resettlement I travelled from the knocks and cranies of the state. To ensure restoration of civil autholrity government established security trust fund , we have built municipal buildings such as schools Secretariat. Government lodges, police station. Courts, Palaces of the Shehus, emirs, village head as and other traditional rulers. Among others all these to ensure return of civil authorities at the grassroots level”.

In addressing the roots cause of the insurgency, Prof. Zulum said we have created more jobs. expanded the land of cultivation from 400 hecters to 10 kilometers to Ngom, 5 kilometers Nagaa. 10 kilometres to Dikwa, and Kala-Balge. We have written the Chief of Army staff for security clearance to expand the area of cultivation and he directed the theater Commsnder to do so and he also directed all formation commander to expand area of cultivation, this season we are cultivating up till Dalwa, we are expanding our cultivation to reduce dependency on donor agencies”.

” in the area of health care delivery, he explained that “we have constructed 23 Primary Health Care centre. The World Health Organization standard is to building one primary Health care center in each ward but in Borno we are even building more than one. So that someone would go to the nearest heath Care centre. We have also built two primary Health centre in the metropolis, very soon we are going to launch free maternal healthete delivery ” he stressed.

He promised to provide many dividends of democracy to the people of Borno In-shaa Allah in the next three years and urged the people of the state to continue to pray, support and cooperates with his administration.
