Stop using youths as political thugs or loss APC candidature, Governor Zulum warns politicians
- Directs security operatives to arrest any thugs carrying posters

The Borno state Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has warned politicians to stop using youths as political thugs or loss the candidature of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Birno state and that the party will only Field in candidates that have performed and touched the lives of their people positively.
Governor Zulum who disclosed this at the Palace of the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Shehu Idrisa Timta in Gwoza yesterday said ” I detest political thuggery. I don’t think any of us will allow his son or daughter to be carrying posters, flags and shouting ” sai kayi” . As I have said it in Biu, I am going to repeat it here that any politician that use thugs we will deal with him/her”.
” It is not time for politicking, we are not going to tolerate this, I am hereby directing the security agencies to arrest any political thugs. Election is not about holding posters or thuggery. Even if you pasted your posters from Gwoza to Maiduguri, we know the popular candidates and the APC is going to field in only popular candidates that performed and positively changed the lives of our people”, Governor Zulum added.
Governor Zulum told the Emur that he was in the emirate to distribute relief materials to the people of the area and also to support traders with cash to boost their business, adding that he has also discussed with the brigade commander of Gwoza and he has assured him that the military is going open up more areas to allow farmers farm in their farmlands.
He said we are going to do everything to develop Gwoza , we are going to visit your schools, hospital and create jobs to the youths. Youths are not suppose to be use as political thugs
While commeding the people of Gwoza, Governor Zulum said ” I call on the people of Gwoza to unite and move the area forward. We should always come together to move our area forward, as it is only when we unite that we can achieve meaningful development”.
Earlier while welcoming the governor , the Emir of Gwoza Alhaji Muhammad ibn Shehu Idris Timta said ” we the people of Gwoza will remain indebted to you, as no governor have done what you have done to the people of Gwoza.”
He assured the governor of the people of Gwoza complete loyalty and support to his administration, pointing out that he will seek audience with the Governor to discuss the problem of the people of his domain.

A member, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Joy Emordi, today defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, formally received the senator in a brief ceremony in Abuja.
Sen. Emordi, said she was convinced that the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC.
She described the APC leadership as sincerely and genuinely committed to a united Nigeria that has plans for the future generation.
The legislator assured the party of her loyalty and her supporters to the party “l assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.”
Sen. Emordi said “the APC led federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.”
The Chairman CECPC Mai Mala Buni, expressed delight with the decision taken by the board member to contribute to the unity of the country.
“There is need for us to join hands for the political stability and national unity of our dear country” he said.
Governor Buni said the coming of Sen. Emordi and other prominent politicians from the South East into the APC will promote national unity.
“The South east is a strong political block and very crucial to the unity of the country, this will mo doubt add to national cohesion ” the Chairman added.

The All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Borno state has peacefully held its ward congresses, as Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state joined others members of his ward , Mafa Central ward of Mafa local government area of Borno state where they elected 27 member ward executives of the party inline with the ongoing ward, local government and state congresses of the party
Addressing the delegates befoe throwing the question, the chairman of the APC Congress committee in Borno state, who is also former Deputy Governor of Taraba state, Alhaji Uba Amadu said ” we are here in Mafa on behalf of APC national headquarters, Abuja to witnessed and monitor the ward congress of our party. We are here to ensure that the congress were conducted in accordance with our party constitution”.
” Our party constitution has allow that the congresses should be done in 3 ways that is, through direct and indirect process, as well as consensus, It could be recalled that the state statutory delegates had last Wednesday agreed that Borno state has opted for consensus.. Today we are here to ensure that what you agreed on is implemented to the later.” Alhaji Anadu added
Those unanimously affirmed through voice votes, as the 27 man Executive of the Mafa central ward of the Mafa local government area were, Alhaji Ali chori, as chairman, Alh Gado Ka’ana as Vice chairman, Alhaji Gada sarki as secretary, Alhaji Babagana Kachalla, treasurer among others executives of the ward.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Mafa, shorty after the exercise , Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state called on the APC members in the state to conduct themselves peacefully and be united for the progress of the party, state and the country at large..
“I want to use this opportunity to thank you for conducting yourselves peacefully, we want to also thank the national , state and local government committee for ensuring peaceful congress in Mafa central my ward”, Zulum.
He said ” I want to assure you that APC administration in Borno state under my leadership will continue to provide more dividends of democracy to our people. We are going to establish additional secondary school here in Mafa for our children to go to school, we are also going to train our youths across all wards of the local government, so that they will be engaged “.
As at the time of filing in this reports the ward congresses were going on simultaneously and peacefully in Biu and Hawul local government, as well as other wards across the state

As the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, warms up for its ward Congress on Saturday, the Chairman Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has enjoined party stakeholders and members to conduct the exercise peacefully.
In a statement signed Friday night by his Director-General on media and publicity, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni called on officials conducting the Congress to be fair and objective to all candidates contesting the election.
“As stakeholders of the party, we have a great responsibility to make the ward Congress in all the participating states successful.
“We should endeavour to place the party and members interest above personal interests,” Buni charged.
The chairman warned that the party would not hesitate to take decisive measures against anyone who deliberately sabotaged the Congress.
“We have come a long way repositioning the party, we have reconciled many groups and individuals, we must not allow personal interests in this election to divide us and draw us back,” he advised.
He expressed the commitment of the committee to entrench internal democracy and respect for the People’s choice.
Governor Buni further said adequate arrangements had been made by the party to conduct successful and acceptable congresses across the country.
