Speaking earlier, Governor Buni announced the naming of the 505 shop capacity market after the Senate President.
Buni said the naming of the market after Senator Lawan, was in recognition and appreciation of his contributions to the state, the Northeast and Nigeria.
Governor Buni commended the Senate President for attracting more federal presence to the state.
While commissioning the market, Senator Lawan commended the Yobe state government for the recognition and promised to do more.
He said he was spurred by the exceptional recognition and would continue to serve the state and country diligently.
The Senate President donated N200 million to 400 traders to boost their trade.
The event was attended by thousands of well wishers and supporters from within and outside the state.
