There is a complete sabotage in the fight against insurgency – Governor Zulum

The Borno state Governor, Prof. Babagana zulum has said that there is s complete sabotage in the fight against insurgency in the Northeast and the attacked on my convoy. The Federal government have look into the Command control structure of military high command within theater.

The governor who was in volatile town of Baga on anassessment visit to the town to see how people of the town will return back to their town have to whisks into the Federal Anti Robbery Squard ( FSARS) armoured carrier vehicles and sneak out of the tiwn.

Speaking on the Baga attack on his convoy in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Monguno, Governor Babgana Zulum said ” as far as I am concern what happened in Baga is a complete sabotage by the military. There is no Boko Haram in Baga”.

‘ I wonder , we have over 1181 soldiers in Baga, 72 officers,, 107 solders, 400 soldiers in mile 4 and 1900 solders in Monguno, I see no reason why only 5 Boko Haram will stop them from occupying Baga town.”, Governor zulum added.

Governor Zulum said ” the troops have been in mile 4 for over one year, there is complete sabotage, the problem is not with President Buhari, or General Buhari but the command and control Structure, .There is need to looked into command structure.”

” We have over 80,000 IDPs in Monguno, they cannot continue to depend on INGO and others for food, we have create opportunity for them to go back to their communities and continue with their business and farming activites, after Sallah we are going to allow people to go back to kukawa and we will give time to the military, if they will not clear Baga, we will mobilized our hunters, CJTF, and Vigilantes to recapture Baga , we cannot continue like this, people have take their destiny in their hands.”, he added.

The governor who first visited Kukawa town. The headquarters of Kukawa local government before proceeding to Baga and to inspect the Lake chad water were which provide job opportunities to over 10 million people who engaged in farming and fishing activities.

It could be recalled that members of the Boko Haram insurgents had attacked and sacked resident of Baga town including the headquarters of Multi National Joint Task Force ( MNJTF) and the hoisted their Flagg in 2015 which was reclaimed by the Nigerian and multi National Forces since then there was no civilian presence in the town.

A member, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Joy Emordi, today defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, formally received the senator in a brief ceremony in Abuja.

Sen. Emordi, said she was convinced that the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC.

She described the APC leadership as sincerely and genuinely committed to a united Nigeria that has plans for the future generation.

The legislator assured the party of her loyalty and her supporters to the party “l assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.”

Sen. Emordi said “the APC led federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.”

The Chairman CECPC Mai Mala Buni, expressed delight with the decision taken by the board member to contribute to the unity of the country.

“There is need for us to join hands for the political stability and national unity of our dear country” he said.

Governor Buni said the coming of Sen. Emordi and other prominent politicians from the South East into the APC will promote national unity.

“The South east is a strong political block and very crucial to the unity of the country, this will mo doubt add to national cohesion ” the Chairman added.

The All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Borno state has peacefully held its ward congresses, as Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state joined others members of his ward , Mafa Central ward of Mafa local government area of Borno state where they elected 27 member ward executives of the party inline with the ongoing ward, local government and state congresses of the party

Addressing the delegates befoe throwing the question, the chairman of the APC Congress committee in Borno state, who is also former Deputy Governor of Taraba state, Alhaji Uba Amadu said ” we are here in Mafa on behalf of APC national headquarters, Abuja to witnessed and monitor the ward congress of our party. We are here to ensure that the congress were conducted in accordance with our party constitution”.

” Our party constitution has allow that the congresses should be done in 3 ways that is, through direct and indirect process, as well as consensus, It could be recalled that the state statutory delegates had last Wednesday agreed that Borno state has opted for consensus.. Today we are here to ensure that what you agreed on is implemented to the later.” Alhaji Anadu added

Those unanimously affirmed through voice votes, as the 27 man Executive of the Mafa central ward of the Mafa local government area were, Alhaji Ali chori, as chairman, Alh Gado Ka’ana as Vice chairman, Alhaji Gada sarki as secretary, Alhaji Babagana Kachalla, treasurer among others executives of the ward.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Mafa, shorty after the exercise , Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state called on the APC members in the state to conduct themselves peacefully and be united for the progress of the party, state and the country at large..

“I want to use this opportunity to thank you for conducting yourselves peacefully, we want to also thank the national , state and local government committee for ensuring peaceful congress in Mafa central my ward”, Zulum.

He said ” I want to assure you that APC administration in Borno state under my leadership will continue to provide more dividends of democracy to our people. We are going to establish additional secondary school here in Mafa for our children to go to school, we are also going to train our youths across all wards of the local government, so that they will be engaged “.

As at the time of filing in this reports the ward congresses were going on simultaneously and peacefully in Biu and Hawul local government, as well as other wards across the state

APC Congress: Buni calls for peaceful exercise, warns against sabotage

As the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, warms up for its ward Congress on Saturday, the Chairman Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has enjoined party stakeholders and members to conduct the exercise peacefully.

In a statement signed Friday night by his Director-General on media and publicity, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni called on officials conducting the Congress to be fair and objective to all candidates contesting the election.

“As stakeholders of the party, we have a great responsibility to make the ward Congress in all the participating states successful.

“We should endeavour to place the party and members interest above personal interests,” Buni charged.

The chairman warned that the party would not hesitate to take decisive measures against anyone who deliberately sabotaged the Congress.

“We have come a long way repositioning the party, we have reconciled many groups and individuals, we must not allow personal interests in this election to divide us and draw us back,” he advised.

He expressed the commitment of the committee to entrench internal democracy and respect for the People’s choice.

Governor Buni further said adequate arrangements had been made by the party to conduct successful and acceptable congresses across the country.
