World Food Programme WFP New Country Director for Nigeria pays First Working Visit/Advocacy to Governor Mai Mala Buni CON

Hon Commissioner MHADM Dr Abubakar Garba Iliya PhD led Mr David Stevenson-WFP Country Director, Trust Mlambo -Head of WFP Damaturu office, Martine UZAMUGURA Deputy Head of WFP Area Office Maiduguri and Emmanuel Bimba. Head of Operations, WFP Damaturu office to advocacy visit to His Excellency.
Also in attendance is the Executive Secretary SEMA. The visit was first since Mr David Steveson assumed office as New CD of WFP Nigeria some few weeks ago. The visit was aimed at discussing areas of collaboration and appreciating Yobe State Government effort in providing the enabling environment for Partners to operate.
Governor Mai Mala Buni CON while thanking WFP and other Partners for the roles played during and after the decade long conflict to stabilise and build resilience amongst vulnerable population, assured the team of continuous working relationship in serving persons of concerns.
Mr Davidson who came with vast experience working previously in WFP across different African nations and African Development Bank, on his part explained his plan and vision inline with WFP mandate and how he hope to build on the success recorded while ensuring that the state are driving the process.
